This course presents some ideas that you can use to answer the question, ‘Why be Ethical?’ Understanding the answer to this question provides a secure foundation for your life and decision-making. It also clarifies how to go about learning what really is Ethical. What really is Ethical may be different from, or go beyond, what you currently think. Not least because for most people, what they currently think is Ethical is heavily influenced by the genes, upbringing and past experience that they chanced to have.
Furthermore, you may employ the ideas that this course furnishes you with to provoke reflection, questioning and change in selfish, shallow people.
There will be plenty of opportunity for friendly, constructive discussion.
No prior knowledge is required for this philosophy course, only the willingness to question one’s current views and think deeply and rigorously about the topic.
All levels. Any number, but 4-14 is ideal.
