This programme is designed to encourage local secondary school and university students to develop their awareness and understanding of business ethics. We hope that getting involved will help participants hone their critical thinking skills and their ability to balance conflicting ethical considerations. This should lead to a wave of young people entering the local workforce with a solid understanding of the importance of taking an ethical approach at work.
The aim of our annual Business Ethics Schools Fair is to get students from both state and independent secondary schools thinking about business ethics. We hope this will help to prepare them to join the local workforce with an appreciation of ethical principles like honesty, fairness, integrity and compassion.Â
This competition gives students at the University of Reading an opportunity to win a cash prize, sponsored by one of our Partners, for writing an essay on a topic related to business ethics. A prizegiving lunch is also held in their honour to celebrate their achievement.
As with Business Ethics in Schools, the aim is to increase awareness and understanding of business ethics among young people, so they can have a positive influence at work from the very start of their careers.
