Purpose:

Ethical Reading is a Community Interest Company whose mission is to encourage and embed ethical behaviours inside organisations. We are looking for several volunteers across our programmes to support the work we do.

Description:

Ethical Reading is a Community Interest Company whose mission is to encourage and embed ethical behaviours inside organisations. We do this by enabling action via our programmes and initiatives which include:

Environmental Sustainability – Trees for Reading
Environmental Sustainability – Active Travel and Cycle Security
Workplace Wellbeing – Healthy and Ethical Workplaces
Business Ethics – Ethical Recruitment
Ethics in Education – Ethics in Schools
Ethics in Education – Ethics for university students

We need volunteers across all these programmes and to provide back office admin support as well. Under the guidance of a lead Director, activities include::

Helping to develop and grow the initiatives
Supporting events related to the initiatives
Engaging the community and businesses leaders
Spreading the word about what we do over social media

What’s in it for you?

Volunteering with Ethical Reading is a great opportunity for you to make a positive impact locally and support our work across our programmes and initiatives such as Trees for Reading and Ethics in Education. It’s also a chance to apply and enhance skills if you are relatively new into the workface or have taken a break from working and want to return at some point. We currently have around 20 volunteers with a broad range of backgrounds and experience

Support given:

Volunteer induction and coaching
Regular meetings with the lead Director
Training on Ethical Reading (Microsoft) systems
Volunteers social meetups

Skills & Experience Required:

Good organisational and project management skills
Proficient in IT systems administration and or software development
Familiarity with Microsoft Office365 administration would be helpful

Time Commitment:

Depends on the role and is typically @ 4 hours per week on average
